Technical University of Berlin Opens New Coworking Space "Eins" for Entrepreneurs, Researchers, and Students

The coworking space “EINS” was opened on January 31st 2019 at Ernst-Reuter-Platz 1 and counts over 1000 m² in size, providing founders of young companies, students and researchers of the university with about 80 desks, a “maker space” for prototypes, meeting rooms and an event area for about 200 people.

It aims to create a eco-friendly, efficient and socially engaging platform where active and permanent exchange between researchers and their findings and representatives of politics and society is made possible – all together in order to battle tomorrow’s challenges.

Playing a major part in realizing this project, SOPAT’s CEO Dr. Sebastian Maaß took part in the solemn opening of the coworking space. SOPAT as a successful start up is one result of the empirical profile of the Technical University and its support through the Centre of Entrepreneurship. Hence, Maaß himself considers it a big pleasure to contribute to this program as a coach and thus giving back to the academic community.

SOPAT is therefore wishing “EINS” all the best for its future and creative, exciting and challenging new projects for today’s and tomorrow’s generations.

Congratulations to Mathieu de Langlard for a great PhD defense!

Mathieu de Langlard defended successfully his PhD thesis: LA GÉOMÉTRIE ALÉATOIRE POUR LA CARACTÉRISATION DE POPULATIONS DENSES DE PARTICULES: APPLICATION AUX ÉCOULEMENTS DIPHASIQUES on January, 10th 2019! He did some excellent research in the field of liquid-liquid extraction and multiphase applications (simulation and experiments). 

Most of all he achieved cutting edge insights for the improvement of nuclear waste recycling. The key to his success and great results is to work with much emphasis on the little details, even the finest droplets in the emulsion. Many years of experience lead to a fruitful cooperation with SOPAT from which he benefits due to the magnificent support of SOPAT’s technology and image analysis.

His studies were all spear headed by his doctoral supervisor Dr. Sophie Charton. We also congratulate her to her an excellent leadership and great support.

SOPAT is on the road: CPhI, Delhi India

From 12 to 14 December 2018 the congress CPhI will take place in Delhi, India.

Especially for the pharmaceutical industry, India is becoming more and more attractive to obtain high-quality and cost-effective pharmaceutical solutions. CPhI & P-MEC India are therefore the ideal events for companies that want to pick up on the latest trends and innovations in the market. Cutting Edge: The Importance of Particle Analysis

In December’s issue of Spinco Biotech’s Cutting Edge magazine, SOPAT’s founder and CEO Dr. Sebastian Maaß talks about the importance of particle size analysis in the pharmaceutical industry.

In the five-page article, the importance of the particle size is highlighted as an important attribute in APIs, solid oral drug products (tablets and capsules – impacting on homogeneity, flow and processing), and as a critical quality attribute in semi-solids (suspensions) and sterile liquid products (injectables).
